Triple Threat Clan Website Anthology - Part Two Sunday, July 01 @ 17:30:00 NZST by Valdarez (1633 reads) | The Triple Threat Clan is a little over 2.5 years old now, and as such we thought it would be fun to reminisce over our old websites and our humble beginnings. The clan itself was founded on November 21st, 2004 and has been home to several versions of the website.
The first website was launched a couple of weeks after the clan was founded and the second version of the website followed several weeks later. The second version of the website received a few minor changes, but the big change was the introduction of the formal node design that still exists on the clan website as of the date of this news item. The node is located at the center of the image of the second website.
The second website lasted until January 7th, 2005. By that time the clan had grown to 15 members. Of that 15 players, 8 are still a part of the clan and 1 remains an honorary guest nearly 2.5 years later. Now that's commitment!
Over the next coming weeks we will highlight further evolutions of the clan website, and soon we will be revealing a significant overhaul to the site header! Yes, we have heard your voice regarding the lack of navigatability on our forums page, and it is going to be addressed. In fact, we have an extremely exciting announcement coming regarding the graphics and the professional artist who is creating them for us! The artist has been drawing comic books for over a decade and has his own comic book line complete with posters, sketches, and various toys (including comic book character figures). The best is yet to come!

Triple Threat Clan Website Anthology - Part One Tuesday, June 05 @ 07:16:03 NZST by Valdarez (2167 reads) | The Triple Threat Clan is a little over 2.5 years old now, and as such we thought it would be fun to reminisce over our old website and our humble beginnings. The clan itself was founded on November 21st, 2004. The initial four members of the clan were BlackJ3sus, Babylac, Roxy, and Valdarez. By December the 10th, three weeks later, the clan had grown to 11 players and many more would be added over the coming months.
Our first website was less than impressive, but it served its purpose. It provided a means for the clan to communicate with one another. One of the best additions during this initial three week period was the addition of TeamSpeak. Early in the clan, we didnt even use TeamSpeak. Instead, all clan communication was via the website or via chat in the Axis & Allies RTS game. Needless to say, the addition of TeamSpeak made communication much easier both in games and as a clan.
While many of the initial members of the Triple Threat Clan have moved on over the last 2.5 years, most to other games, 3 of the 11 remain in the clan (Babylac, Ducati, and Valdarez), and one remains an honorable guest (Roxy).
Over the next coming weeks we will be providing further evolutions of the clan website, and soon we will be revealing a significant overhaul to the site header! Yes, we have heard your voice regarding the lack of navigatability on our forums page, and it is going to be addressed. Practice Safe Surfing Sunday, January 14 @ 03:43:50 NZDT by Valdarez (1510 reads) | For a total 284 days in 2006 (or more than nine months out of the year), exploit code for known, unpatched critical flaws in pre-IE7 versions of the browser was publicly available on the Internet. Likewise, there were at least 98 days last year in which no software fixes from Microsoft were available to fix IE flaws that criminals were actively using to steal personal and financial data from users... In contrast, Internet Explorer's closest competitor in terms of market share - Mozilla's Firefox browser - experienced a single period lasting just nine days last year in which exploit code for a serious security hole was posted online before Mozilla shipped a patch to remedy the problem.

One Million Page Views Tuesday, December 12 @ 17:10:56 NZDT by Valdarez (1930 reads) |
The Triple Threat Clan was founded in November of 2004. The clan started with a static website that contained very little content. On April 8th of 2005, the Triple Threat Clan launched it's new PHP Nuke based website. Today, and a little over a year and a half later, the new website reached 1,000,000 page views. The number of visitors and site members has been amazing for a clan based website.
Only a couple of weeks ago, the clan celebrated it's 2nd anniversary. It's kind of inspiring to hit the 1,000,000 page views so closely after our clan's founding.
If you are a regular member of the site or have played against us in online competition, feel free to sound off in our One Million Page Views thread or our 2nd Anniversary thread in our forums.

400,000 Page Views Sunday, December 11 @ 08:30:52 NZDT by Valdarez (415 reads) | The Triple Threat Clan's website passed a huge milestone this week as we went over 400,000 page views. It was only a couple of months back that we we passed the 300,000 mark and the site seems to be gaining in popularity over time.
As stated in the previous 300k news item, the clan has enjoyed meeting many of the site members who have frequented the website, whether playing with them as a team, or against them in battle. There are many guys that we count as friends, even though they may not be in the clan itself.
The community experience for the clan has been great, whether it's discussing game related strategies or working together with other site members to create new custom content such as Maps, Mods, or Strategy documents. The website has been instrumental in providing the melting pot for these exchange of ideas and discussions.
Strategy Based MultiGaming Clan
The clan is making the transition to a Strategy Based MultiGaming Clan. We have started playing AOE III, and plan on playing Star Wars Empires at Wars and the up and coming Company of Heroes from Relic.
Help Requested
With the growth of the website, the costs for maintaining the site, and adding new features are growing. The clan wants to purchase new modules (commercial), a custom skin, and at some point provide a public TeamSpeak Server so everyone can get on and chat with the =xXx= Clan members. To that extent, the clan has added a Pay Pal Donations node, and all donations regardless of size are appreciated.
Next Milestone: 500,000 Page Views (half a million hits!!!!)

Results A&A RTS Developer/Publisher Support Survey Thursday, October 06 @ 18:15:00 NZDT by Valdarez (444 reads) | After running the survey for over a month, the results for the poll asking "Will you continue to buy games from Atari and TimeGate, the makers of Axis & Allies RTS?" are finally complete. Lets take a look at what the community thinks about the game and it's developer/publisher.
11.65% Not sure who Atari or TimeGate are
Well, first off, some folks were a little confused, they didn't know who Atari or TimeGate were. To clarify for those stumbling in the dark, Atari is the publisher and TimeGate is the developer of the Axis & Allies RTS game.
18.45% Will buy both Atari/TimeGate games
08.74% Only buy TimeGate games
04.85% Only buy Atari games
Now if you combine the stats of who will by both with who will by from Atari only or TimeGate only, then you get the following:
27.19% Will buy TimeGate games
23.20% Will buy Atari games
While there's not much difference there, it does tend to indicate that the community blames Atari a bit more for the lack of support than they blame TimeGate.
And here is the stat that really matters, the biggest one of 'em all:
56.31% Never buy an Atari or TimeGate game again
The community has spoken and shown that they are unhappy with Atari and TimeGate both for the lack of support. To make matters worse, Triple Threat offered to lead a community effort to balance the game, so the community could at least have a more balanced game if not a patched game devoid of bugs. The offer was accepted by TimeGate, and we were told they would follow up on it in order to determine the feasibility, but no follow up ever occurred and no further contact or information was received from TimeGate.
Having the community balance the game is something that could have been both positive for the company and the community. The company would have earned the respect of the community for at least supporting a balancing patch, if not a bug fix patch, and the community would have benefited from a more balanced and thus funner gameplay. Why TimeGate chose to ignore the request remains a mystery. We hypthosize that they wanted Atari to foot the bill for the patch, and were hoping to get more $$$, and did not want to lose that opportunity, as remote as it mave have been, but then, that is only a hypothesis on our part.
